Description:
FGF-basic is one of 23 known members of the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development, postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF-basic is a non-glycosylated, heparin-binding growth factor that is expressed in the brain, pituitary, kidney, retina, bone, testis, adrenal gland, liver, monocytes, epithelial cells and endothelial cells. FGF-basic signals through FGFR 1b, 1c, 2c, 3c and 4. Recombinant Human FGF-basic is a 16.4 kDa protein consisting of 146 amino acid residues.

Homeobox protein Nkx-2.1 (NKX2-1), also named Thyroid nuclear factor 1,Thyroid transcription factor 1(TTF1). It is a transcription factor that binds and activates the promoter of thyroid specific genes such as thyroglobulin, thyroperoxidase, and thyrotropin receptor. Crucial in the maintenance of the thyroid differentiation phenotype. May play a role in lung development and surfactant homeostasis. Defects in NKX2-1 are the cause of benign hereditary chorea (BHC), choreoathetosis, hypothyroidism, and neonatal respiratory distress (CHNRD).

Description:
8-Hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8OHdG) is a modified base that occurs in DNA due to attack by hydroxyl radicals that are formed as byproducts and intermediates of aerobic metabolism and during oxidative stress. There is increasing evidence to support the involvement of free radical reactions in the damage of biomolecules that eventually lead to several diseases in humans, such as atherosclerosis, cerebral and heart ischemia-reperfusion injury, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation, diabetes, aging and neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease. 8OHdG has become increasing popular as a sensitive, stable and integral marker of oxidative damage in cellular DNA. Biomonitoring in humans has demonstrated that 8OHdG can be excreted in the urine and that a significant increase is caused by exposure to tobacco smoke and ionizing radiation. Because 8OHdG is so well correlated with oxidative stress and damage to DNA, which leads to degenerative disease states, the development of an antibody that can be used to study DNA damage has numerous applications. In addition to the direct study of DNA damage within cells, this antibody has applications in the development of immunoassays that can monitor 8OHdG excretion in the urine and serve as a biomarker of oxidative stress. Industrial uses may extend to the dietary supplement manufacturers, who could benefit from an immunoassay that could be used to test the effectiveness of antioxidants and other nutraceuticals.

Four and a half LIM domain (FHL) protein 3 is a member of the FHL protein family that has roles in the regulation of signal transduction, survival, cell adhesion, and mobility. It also involves in the development and progression of liver cancer. The FHL proteins have been shown to regulate a variety of transcription factors, including SMAD proteins, β-catenin, SRF, AP-1, NFAT, FOXO1, MyoD, and the androgen receptor. Beside, the FHL proteins may involve in muscle growth and differentiation.

Description:
Proteases (also called Proteolytic Enzymes, Peptidases, or Proteinases) are enzymes that hydrolyze the amide bonds within proteins or peptides. Most proteases act in a specific manner, hydrolyzing bonds at, or adjacent to, specific residues or a specific sequence of residues contained within the substrate protein or peptide. Proteases play an important role in most diseases and biological processes including prenatal and postnatal development, reproduction, signal transduction, the immune response, various autoimmune and degenerative diseases, and cancer. They are also an important research tool, frequently used in the analysis and production of proteins. Carboxypeptidase-B sequentially cleaves C-terminal K and R residues. Recombinant Rat Carboxypeptidase-B is a 35.1 kDa protein consisting of 307 amino acids.
