Description:
FGF6 is a secreted heparin binding growth factor that is a member of the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF6 is expressed in leukemia cell lines with platelet megakaryocytic differentiation potential. It signals through FGFR 1c, 2c, and 4. The FGF6 gene displays oncogenic transforming activity when transfected into mammalian cells. The mouse homolog of this gene exhibits a restricted expression profile predominantly in the myogenic lineage, which suggested a role in muscle regeneration or differentiation.

Description:
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the neurotrophin family, that controls survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. This protein is closely related to both nerve growth factor and brain-derived neurotrophic factor. It may be involved in the maintenance of the adult nervous system, and may affect development of neurons in the embryo when it is expressed in human placenta. NTF3-deficient mice generated by gene targeting display severe movement defects of the limbs. The mature peptide of this protein is identical in all mammals examined including human, pig, rat and mouse. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

Description:
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein and is similar in sequence to its family member CD53 antigen. It is known to complex with integrins and other transmembrane 4 superfamily proteins. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

Description:
LIN-28 is a highly conserved, RNA-binding, cytoplasmic protein. It consists of a cold shock domain and retroviral-type (CCHC) zinc finger motifs that were first identified in Caenorhabditis elegans. LIN-28 controls the timing of events during embryonic development and is readily expressed in embryos, embryonic stem cells and embryonal carcinoma cells. The presence of LIN-28 persists in some adult tissues including cardiac and skeletal muscle. In differentiating myoblasts, LIN-28 increases protein synthesis efficiency and binds to the growth and differentiation factor IGF-II.

Description:
This antibody is predicted to react with mouse, non-human primate and rat based on sequence homology. DNA methylation is the major modification of eukaryotic genomes and plays an essential role in mammalian development. Human proteins MECP2, MBD1, MBD2, MBD3, and MBD4 comprise a family of nuclear proteins related by the presence in each of a methyl-CpG binding domain (MBD). Each of these proteins, with the exception of MBD3, is capable of binding specifically to methylated DNA. MECP2, MBD1 and MBD2 can also repress transcription from methylated gene promoters. In contrast to other MBD family members, MECP2 is X-linked and subject to X inactivation. MECP2 is dispensible in stem cells, but is essential for embryonic development. MECP2 gene mutations are the cause of some cases of Rett syndrome, a progressive neurologic developmental disorder and one of the most common causes of mental retardation in females.

Description:
BCL7B shows high homology to the BCL7A protein, which is known to be directly involved in a complex chromosomal translocation in Burkitt lymphoma cell lines. The specific function of BCL7B has not yet been determined. However, it may play a role in lung tumor development or progression. The BCL7B gene is located at a chromosomal region commonly deleted in the congenital disorder, Williams syndrome.

Pallidin, also named as PLDN and PA, is involved in the development of lysosome-related organelles, such as melanosomes and platelet-dense granules. It may play a role in intracellular vesicle trafficking, particularly in the vesicle-docking and fusion process. Pallidin interacts with syntaxin-12 which is a t-SNARE protein that mediates vesicle docking and fusion. Pallidin is a 25 kDa subunit of the octamer BLOC-1.

The MF23 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with the mouse 50-55 kDa Foxp3 protein (JM2, IPEX), a member of the forkhead family of transcription factors. Foxp3 is expressed by the Treg lymphocytes, whose development and function are influenced by the forkhead protein. Ectopic expression of Foxp3 in T lymphocytes inhibits their activity and cytokine expression. Mutations of Foxp3 result in the “scurfy†mice phenotype. It is reported that the MF23 antibody recognizes an epitope between 1-87 amino acids in the N-terminal domain of mouse Foxp3.

The protein encoded by this gene is a serine-threonine kinase, belonging to the glycogen synthase kinase subfamily. It is involved in energy metabolism, neuronal cell development, and body pattern formation. Polymorphisms in this gene have been implicated in modifying risk of Parkinson disease, and studies in mice show that overexpression of this gene may be relevant to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

JMJD7 Antibody: The jumonji domain-containing protein (JMJD) family is defined by the presence of the JmjC domain that is observed in several diverse species. While several JMJD proteins have been identified as being involved in chromatin regulation, histone demethylation and development, the function of JMJD7 has not been identified. JMJD7 was initially thought to be a novel splice form of the phospholipase PLA2G4B which is located downstream of JMJD7 as most tissues express a read-through transcript of the two genes.

Glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK3) is a proline-directed serine-threonine kinase that was initially identified as a phosphorylating and inactivating glycogen synthase .GSK3B is involved in energy metabolism, neuronal cell development, and body pattern formation. In skeletal muscle, it contributes to insulin regulation of glycogen synthesis by phosphorylating and inhibiting GYS1 activity and hence glycogen synthesis. Researches showed that the crystal structure of human GSK3B, expressed in insect cells, at 2.8-angstrom resolution .This antibody recognize the C-terminal of GSK3B.

Fibroblast growth factor 10 (FGF-10) is a growth factor that is important during embryonic development, especially during lung, limb, brain, heart, and kidney morphogenesis. FGF-10 is expressed in mesenchymal cells and facilitates epithelial-mesenchymal signaling through binding the epithelially expressed FGF receptor 2b (FGFR2b). FGF-10 also functions as a mitogen for keratinizing epidermal cells, and induces the migration and invasion of cancer cells.

Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) constitute a subfamily within the TGF-β superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. Members of this superfamily are widely distributed throughout the body, and are involved in diverse physiological processes during both pre- and postnatal life. Like BMP-7, BMP-4 is involved in the development and maintenance of bone and cartilage. Reduced expression of BMP-4 is associated with a number of bone diseases, including the heritable disorder Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva. PeproTech’s
