Description:   HDHD3 (haloacid dehalogenase-like hydrolase domain containing 3) is a 251 amino acid protein that belongs to the HAD-like hydrolase superfamily, which contains a group of hydrolase enzymes that differ from the å/∫ hydrolase family based on structure. This family of hydrolase enzymes includes L-2-haloacid dehalogenase, epoxide hydrolases and phosphatases. HDHD3 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 9q32. Chromosome 9 consists of about 145 million bases, 4% of the human genome and encodes nearly 900 genes. Thought to play a role in gender determination, deletion of the distal portion of 9p can lead to development of male to female sex reversal, the phenotype of a female with a male X,Y genotype.

Description:   ATR Antibody: The Anthrax toxin receptor (ATR) was initially discovered as the tumor endothelial marker 8 (TEM8). This protein, which exists in three isoforms (36, 40, and 60 kDa), is highly expressed in tumor vessels as well as in the vasculature of developing embryos, suggesting that it may normally play a role in angiogenesis. However, it also acts as the receptor for anthrax toxin. Following the binding of this protein by the protective antigen (PA) of anthrax, PA is cleaved and heptamerizes to form the binding site for both edema factor (EF) and lethal factor (LF). This complex is then endocytosed by the cell; acidification in endosomes allows the release of EF and LF into the cytoplasm where they interfere with MAPK signaling and induce apoptosis.

Description:   ZIP6 Antibody: The zinc transporter ZIP6, also known as SLC39A6, is a member of a family of divalent ion transporters. Zinc is an essential ion for cells and plays significant roles in the growth, development, and differentiation. ZIP6 was initially identified as LIV-1, an estrogen-regulated gene that has been implicated in metastatic breast cancer. Elevated ZIP6 expression has also been reported in human cervical cancer and the HeLa cell line; down-regulation of ZIP6 expression in HeLa by RNAi inhibited cell proliferation, colony formation, migration and invasiveness, as well as decreasing Snail and Slug levels, suggesting ZIP6 plays a regulatory role on the ERK1/2-Snail/Slug pathway.

Description:   Enolase 1 is a multifunctional enzyme that, as well as its role in glycolysis, plays a part in various processes such as growth control, hypoxia tolerance and allergic responses. May also function in the intravascular and pericellular fibrinolytic system due to its ability to serve as a receptor and activator of plasminogen on the cell surface of several cell-types such as leukocytes and neurons. Stimulates immunoglobulin production.MBP1 binds to the myc promoter and acts as a transcriptional repressor. May be a tumor suppressor.Enolase 2 has neurotrophic and neuroprotective properties on a broad spectrum of central nervous system (CNS) neurons. Binds, in a calcium-dependent manner, to cultured neocortical neurons and promotes cell survival.Enolase 3 appears to have a function in striated muscle development and regeneration.

Description:   ZIP7 Antibody: The zinc transporter ZIP7, also known as SLC39A7, is a member of a family of divalent ion transporters. Zinc is an essential ion for cells and plays significant roles in the growth, development, and differentiation. ZIP7 was initially identified while characterizing genes in the major histocompatibility complex on chromosome 17. ZIP7 mRNA is abundantly and widely expressed and the protein localizes to the Golgi apparatus. It functions to transport intracellular zinc from the Golgi apparatus to the cytoplasm of the cell. ZIP7 expression is expressed by zinc. ZIP7 has been suggested to act a hub for tyrosine kinase activation and may thus be a potential therapeutic target for diseases such as cancer where prevention of tyrosine kinase activation would be advantageous.

Description:   CCDC11 is a 514 amino acid protein encode by a gene that maps to human chromosome 18q21.1. Encoding over 300 genes, chromosome 18 contains about 76 million bases. Trisomy 18, or Edwards syndrome, is the second most common trisomy after Downs syndrome. Symptoms of Edwards syndrome include low birth weight, a variety of physical development defects, heart deformations and breathing difficulty. Translocation between chromosome 18 and 14 is the most common translocation in cancers, and occurs in follicular lymphomas. Niemann-Pick disease, hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and erythropoietic protoporphyria are associated with chromosome 18. The TGF∫ modulators, Smad2, Smad4 and Smad7 are encoded by chromosome 18.

Description:   Agrin is an essential extracellular matrix component which promotes clustering of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) and other proteins during development at the neuromuscular junction. Agrin, MuSK and Rapsyn are all essential components for AChR aggregation, through an unknown mechanism. The C-terminal region of agrin is released into the medium, interacts with receptors on the muscle surface and induces AChR aggregation. The central region contains two O-linked glycosylation sites and a domain homologous to domain III of laminin. The N-terminal region anchors agrin to the extracellular matrix via other basal membrane components. This region also contains a protease inhibitor domain and glycosaminoglycan attachment sites; increasing the predicted MW from 200kDa to ~600kDa.

Description:   Neuropilin-1 (NRP1) is also known as Vascular endothelial cell growth factor 165 receptor (VEGF165R), CD antigen CD304, which belongs to the neuropilin family. The membrane-bound isoform 1 is a receptor involved in the development of the cardiovascular system, in angiogenesis, in the formation of certain neuronal circuits and in organogenesis outside the nervous system. It mediates the chemorepulsant activity of semaphorins. It binds to semaphorin 3A, The PLGF-2 isoform of PGF, The VEGF-165 isoform of VEGF and VEGF-B. Coexpression with KDR results in increased VEGF-165 binding to KDR as well as increased chemotaxis. It may regulate VEGF-induced angiogenesis. The soluble isoform 2 binds VEGF-165 and appears to inhibit its binding to cells.

Description:   Component of the beta-catenin destruction complex required for regulating CTNNB1 levels through phosphorylation and ubiquitination, and modulating Wnt-signaling. Controls dorsoventral patterning via two opposing effects; down-regulates CTNNB1 to inhibit the Wnt signaling pathway and ventralize embryos, but also dorsalizes embryos by activating a Wnt-independent JNK signaling pathway. In Wnt signaling, probably facilitates the phosphorylation of CTNNB1 and APC by GSK3B. Likely to function as a tumor suppressor. Facilitates the phosphorylation of TP53 by HIPK2 upon ultraviolet irradiation. Enhances TGF-beta signaling by recruiting the RNF111 E3 ubiquitin ligase and promoting the degradation of inhibitory SMAD7. Also component of the AXIN1-HIPK2-TP53 complex which controls cell growth, apoptosis and development.
