This antibody reacts with a protein of 57 kDa, identified as the L1 protein of human papilloma virus type 16 (HPV-16). It is the major capsid protein of HPV-16. Infection with specific types of HPV has been associated with an increased risk of developing cervical neoplasia. HPV types 6 and 11 have been associated with relatively benign diseases such as genital warts but types 16 and 18 are strongly associated with cervical, vaginal, and vulvar malignancies. N-RAS Antibody: Activating mutations and overexpression of classical Ras subfamily members (N-RAS, H-RAS, and K-RAS) have been widely investigated as key events in the development of human cancers. The N-RAS protein shuttles between the Golgi apparatus and the plasma membrane. This shuttling is regulated through palmitoylation and depalmitoylation by the ZDHHC9-GOLGA7 complex. N-RAS, which has intrinsic GTPase activity, is activated by a guanine nucleotide-exchange factor and inactivated by a GTPase activating protein. Encoding over 300 genes, chromosome 18 contains about 76 million bases. Trisomy 18, or Edwards syndrome, is the second most common trisomy after Downs syndrome. Symptoms of Edwards syndrome include low birth weight, a variety of physical development defects, heart deformations and breathing difficulty. Translocation between chromosome 18 and 14 is the most common translocation in cancers, and occurs in follicular lymphomas. Niemann-Pick disease, hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and erythropoietic protoporphyria are associated with chromosome 18. The TGFβ modulators, Smad2, Smad4 and Smad7 are encoded by chromosome 18. The C18orf56 gene product has been provisionally designated C18orf56 pending further characterization.

Lano Antibody: Lano is a member of the LAP (leucine-rich repeats and PDZ) family of proteins that also includes Densin-180, Erbin, and hScribble. The LAP proteins generally contain multiple leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domains which serve to target them to the basolateral membrane of epithelial cells. Lano is unique in that it alone does not possess one or more PDZ (PSD95/DLG/ZO-1) domains as do the other members of the LAP family. However, it can bind to the PDZ domain of Erbin in addition to those of membrane-associated and guanylate kinase (MAGUK) proteins which regulate adhesion and plasticity at cell junctions. It has been suggested that it is through these interaction that these LAP proteins participate in the maintenance of proper embryonic development and integrity of epithelial tissues.

Its epitope spans in aa 1-160 of extracellular domain of NGFR/NTR. NGF-receptor contains an extracellular domain containing four 40-amino acid repeats with 6 cysteine residues at conserved positions followed by a serine/threonine-rich region, a single transmembrane domain, and a 155-amino acid cytoplasmic domain. The cysteine-rich region contains the nerve growth factor binding domain. NGF is important for the development, differentiation, and survival of variety of neuronal and non-neuronal cells. Its action is mediated by binding two distinct receptors, the high affinity p140 and low affinity p75.
