Description:
SOCS1 Antibody: The Suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS) and cytokine-inducible SH2 proteins are a family of intracellular proteins which regulate the immune cell responses to cytokines. SOCS1 acts to suppress dendritic cell (DC) as well as T cell hyperactivation following cytokine signaling by inhibiting JAK tyrosine kinase, a kinase necessary for type I and II cytokine receptors to initiate signaling, by directly binding to the catalytic domain of the kinase. SOCS1 also possesses E3 ubiquitin protein ligase activity that results in the polyubiquitination of its target proteins and subsequent degradation by the proteosome. It is through this method that SOCS1 negatively regulates signaling by Toll-like receptors TLR2 and TLR4 by mediating the degradation of the TLR signaling adaptor protein TIRAP.

Description:
ZEB2 Antibody: ZEB2, initially identified as Smad interacting-protein 1, is normally located in the nucleus and functions as a DNA-binding transcriptional repressor that interacts with activated SMADs. Like the homologous ZEB1, ZEB2 inhibits the transcription of the E-cadherin gene and induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition, a genetic program controlling cell migration during embryonic development and wound healing, in vitro. ZEB2 can also protect cells from DNA damage-induced apoptosis, suggesting that its expression may contribute to tumor progression. Recent evidence has shown that ZEB2 is often observed in the cytoplasm in numerous cancer tissues, indicating that its localization may be regulated in normal and tumor tissues. Mutations in this gene are also associated with Hirschsprung disease/Mowat-Wilson syndrome.

Description:
Chromosome 9 consists of about 145 million bases and 4% of the human genome and encodes nearly 900 genes. Considered to play a role in gender determination, deletion of the distal portion of 9p can lead to development of male to female sex reversal, the phenotype of a female with a male X,Y genotype. Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, which is characterized by harmful vascular defects, is associated with the chromosome 9 gene encoding endoglin protein, ENG. Familial dysautonomia is also associated with chromosome 9 though through the gene IKBKAP. Notably, chromosome 9 encompasses the largest interferon family gene cluster. Chromosome 9 is partnered with chromosome 22 in the translocation leading to the aberrant production of BCR-ABL fusion protein often found in leukemias. The KIAA1529 gene product has been provisionally designated KIAA1529 pending further characterization.

Description:
PKM, also named as OIP3, PK2, PK3, PK-M1/2, p58, THBP1, CTHBP and Tumor M2-PK, belongs to the pyruvate kinase family. It is glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of a phosphoryl group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to ADP, generating ATP. It stimulates POU5F1-mediated transcriptional activation. PKM plays a general role in caspase independent cell death of tumor cells. The activity of the M2 isoform (but not the M1 isoform) can be inhibited by tyrosine kinase signalling in tumourcells. The primary pyruvate kinase isoform before tumour development is PK-M1; however, the primary isoform from four independent tumours is PK-M2.. PKM, Pyruvate kinase isozymes M1/M2, has 2 isoforms . This antibody can recognize both PK-M1 and PK-M2.

Description:
HECA, also known as headcase homolog, HDC, HDCL or HHDC, is a 543 amino acid mammalian homolog of the Drosophila headcase protein, a highly basic, cytplasmic peptide that plays a role in mitotic re-entry during adult morphogenesis. Expressed in a variety of tissues with highest expression in thymus, spleen and heart, HECA is thought to play a role in the development of epithelial tube networks in lung tissue and may also be involved in the pathogenesis of lung cancer. The gene encoding HECA maps to human chromosome 6, which contains 170 million base pairs and comprises nearly 6% of the human genome. Deletion of a portion of the q arm of chromosome 6 is associated with early onset intestinal cancer, suggesting the presence of a cancer susceptibility locus. Additionally, Porphyria cutanea tarda, Parkinson's disease, Stickler syndrome and a susceptibility to bipolar disorder are all associated with genes that map to chromosome 6.

Description:
P73 protein is a structural and functional homologue of p53, a tumor suppressor gene. In this study, The p73 protein, p19ras, by the yeast two-hybrid screening method. Alternative splicing of the proto-oncogene H-ras pre-mRNA has led to two distinct transcripts, Ras proteins are known to be small membrane-localized guanine nucleotide-binding proteins. However, unlike other Ras proteins, p19ras is localized in the nucleus and the cytosol and its interaction with P73 protein occurred exclusively in the nucleus. Oncogenic MDM2 (mouse double minutes 2) is a known repressor of p73 transcriptional activity. In this study, when p19ras was bound to MDM2, it further inhibited the association of MDM2 to the p73 protein. Therefore, this study presents a novel pathway of Ras signaling that occurs in the nucleus, involving p19ras and p73.
