Description:
Low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein (also known as low density LRP, LRP1, alpha-2-macroglobulin receptor or Apolipoprotein E receptor) is an endocytotic receptor that is involved both in endocytosis and in phagocytosis of apoptotic cells. It is required for early embryonic development, is involved in cellular lipid homeostasis, and may play a role in APP metabolism, kinase-dependent intracellular signalling, neuronal calcium signalling and neurotransmission. Low density LRP also plays a role in the plasma clearance of chylomicron remnants and activated LRPAP1 (alpha-2-macroglobulin), and is involved in the local metabolism of complexes of plasminogen activators and their endogenous ligands. Low density LPR is postulated to be one of the major players in host resistance to HIV. The precursor low density LRP molecule is cleaved post-translationally to form a 85 kDa membrane-spanning subunit (LRP-85) and a 515 kDa large extracellular domain (LRP-515), which remains non-covalently associated with LRP-85. Following cleavage, the intracellular domain (LPRICD) is present in both the cytoplasm and the nucleus.

C9orf96, also known as Protein kinase-like protein SgK071, is a 680 amino acid protein that belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family of the protein kinase superfamily. There are three isoforms of C9orf96 that are produced as a result of alternative splicing events. The gene encoding C9orf96 maps to human chromosome 9, which consists of about 145 million bases and 4% of the human genome and encodes nearly 900 genes. Considered to play a role in gender determination, deletion of the distal portion of 9p can lead to development of male to female sex reversal, the phenotype of a female with a male X,Y genotype. Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, which is characterized by harmful vascular defects, is associated with the chromosome 9 gene encoding endoglin protein, ENG. Familial dysautonomia is also associated with chromosome 9 though through the gene IKBKAP. Notably, chromosome 9 encompasses the largest interferon family gene cluster. Chromosome 9 is partnered with chromosome 22 in the translocation leading to the aberrant production of BCR-ABL fusion protein often found in leukemias.

Description:
Transcriptional coactivator for CREB1 which activates transcription through both consensus and variant cAMP response element (CRE) sites. Acts as a coactivator, in the SIK/TORC signaling pathway, being active when dephosphorylated and acts independently of CREB1 'Ser-133' phosphorylation. Enhances the interaction of CREB1 with TAF4. Regulates the expression of specific CREB-activated genes such as the steroidogenic gene, StAR. Potent coactivator of PGC1alpha and inducer of mitochondrial biogenesis in muscle cells. Also coactivator for TAX activation of the human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) long terminal repeats (LTR). In the hippocampus, involved in late-phase long-term potentiation (L-LTP) maintenance at the Schaffer collateral-CA1 synapses. May be required for dendritic growth of developing cortical neurons (By similarity). In concert with SIK1, regulates the light-induced entrainment of the circadian clock. In response to light stimulus, coactivates the CREB-mediated transcription of PER1 which plays an important role in the photic entrainment of the circadian clock.

Description:
The screening of cDNA expression libraries from human tumors with serum antibody (SEREX) has proven to be a powerful method for identifying the repertoire of tumor antigens recognized by the immune system of cancer patients, referred to as the cancer immunome. In this regard, cancer/testis (CT) antigens are of particular interest because of their immunogenicity and restricted expression patterns. Synoivial sarcomas are striking with regard to CT antigen expression, however, highly expressed in sarcoma, CT antigens do not induce frequent humoral immune responses in sarcoma patients. Sera from two patients were used to immunoscreen cDNA libraries from two synovial sarcoma cell lines and normal testis, resulting in the identification of 113 distinct antigens. Sarcoma antigen NY-SAR-91 is one of them.

Description:
FBXO15, also known as FBX15, is a 434 amino acid protein that contains one C-terminal F-box domain and belongs to the F-box family of proteins. F-box proteins are critical components of the SCF (Skp1-CUL-1-F-box protein) type E3 ubiquitin ligase complex and are involved in substrate recognition and recruitment for ubiquitination. They are members of a larger family of proteins that are involved in the regulation of a wide variety of cellular processes (including the cell cycle, immune response, signaling cascades and developmental processes) through the targeting of proteins, such as cyclins, cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors, IkB-a and b-catenin, for degradation by the proteasome after ubiquitination. Via its F-box domain, FBXO15 can directly interact with Skp1 p19 and CUL-1. In addition, FBXO15 is a target of the transcription factor Oct-3/4, however, it does not appear to be essential for early development and fertility.

Description:
Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, occurs during normal cellular differentiation and development of multicellular organisms. Apoptosis is induced by certain cytokines including TNF and Fas ligand of the TNF family through their death domain containing receptors, TNFR1 and Fas. Cell death signals are transduced by death domain (DD) containing adapter molecules and members of the ICE/CED3 protease family. A novel DD containing molecule was recently cloned from mouse, human and monkey and designated Daxx. Daxx is a death domain containing important intermediate in the Fas mediated apoptosis. Daxx binds specifically to the Fas death domain and enhances Fas induced apoptosis and activates the Jun N terminal kinase (JNK) pathway. It is widely expressed in fetal and adult human and mouse tissue, indicating its important function in Fas signaling pathways.

Description:
This antibody recognizes proteins of 80-200 kDa, identified as different members of CEA family. CEA is synthesized during development in the fetal gut and is re-expressed in increased amounts in intestinal carcinomas and several other tumors. This MAb does not react with nonspecific cross-reacting antigen (NCA) and with human polymorphonuclear leucocytes. It shows no reaction with a variety of normal tissues and is suitable for staining of formalin/paraffin tissues. CEA is not found in benign glands, stroma, or malignant prostatic cells. Antibody to CEA is useful in detecting early foci of gastric carcinoma and in distinguishing pulmonary adenocarcinomas (60-70% are CEA positive) from pleural mesotheliomas (rarely or weakly CEA positive) . Anti-CEA positivity is seen in adenocarcinomas from the lung, colon, stomach, esophagus, pancreas, gallbadder, urachus, salivary gland, ovary, and endocervix.

Description:
Transforming growth factor- beta (TGF- beta ) is an essential regulator in the processes of development, cell proliferation, and extracellular matrix deposition. TGF- beta regulates cellular processes by binding to three high-affinity cell surface receptors: TGF- beta receptor type I (TGF- beta -RI), TGF- beta receptor type II (TGF- beta -RII), and TGF- beta beta receptor type III (TGF- beta -RIII). TGF- beta RII is consists of a C-terminal protein kinase domain and an N-terminal ectodomain and belongs to transforming growth factor-beta (TGF- beta ) receptor subfamily. TGF- beta RII has a protein kinase domain which can form a heterodimeric complex with another receptor protein and bind TGF-beta. This receptor/ligand complex phosphorylates protein will enter the nucleus and regulate the transcription of a subset of genes related to cell proliferation.
