Description:
ATF4 is a transcription factor that was originally identified as a widely expressed mammalian DNA binding protein that could bind a tax-responsive enhancer element in the LTR of HTLV1. The encoded protein was also isolated and characterized as the cAMP-response element binding protein 2 (CREB2). The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a family of DNA-binding proteins that includes the AP1 family of transcription factors, cAMP-response element binding proteins (CREBs) and CREB-like proteins. These transcription factors share a leucine zipper region that is involved in protein-protein interactions, located C-terminal to a stretch of basic amino acids that functions as a DNA binding domain (referenced from Entrez gene).

Description:
CD97, a CD55 Receptor, is a leukocyte antigen located on most activated leukocytes. CD97 is highly homologous to EMR2 with five EGF-like domains in the N-terminal extracellular domain, suggesting that it may be involved in cell signaling as well as in cell adhesion (Hamann et al., 1996). Two variants are produced by alternative splicing, where the shorter form lacks exons 5 and 6 and reduces the number of EGF-like domains from 5 to 3, compared to the full-length isoform. CD97 is associated with with the activated lesions of multiple sclerosis. CD97 expression is also implicated in the dedifferentiation of colon and thyroid tumors. CD97 is expressed abundantly in cells of hematopoietic origin and is markedly upregulated on activated T and B cells. ESTs have been isolated from a wide variety of tissue libraries.

BCAS4 Antibody: The Breast carcinoma amplified sequence (BCAS4) gene is localized to 20q13, a region that is often amplified in breast cancers. It was isolated by the cloning of a highly overexpressed 1.3 kb transcript from the fusion of the last two exons of the BCAS3 and BCAS4 genes. This BCAS3-BCAS4 fusion transcript is only found in the MCF7 cell line, but the BCAS4 gene is also overexpressed in nine of thirteen breast cancer cell lines. The role of BCAS4 is unknown but its mRNA is highly expressed in thymus, spleen, kidney, brain, and placenta, suggesting BCAS4 plays other roles in multiple tissues.

Description:
MCL-1 is an anti-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family originally isolated from the ML-1 human myeloid leukemia cell line. Similar to BCL2 and BCL2L1, MCL1 can interact with BAX and/or BAK1 to inhibit mitochondria-mediated apoptosis. Mcl-1 is critical for the proliferation and survival of myeloma cells in vitro, and overexpression of Mcl-1 protein in myeloma cells is associated with relapse and short event-free survival in multiple myeloma patients. Recent studies show that MCL-1 is upregulated in numerous haematological and solid tumour malignancies. Therefore, MCL-1 has been suggested as a potential new therapeutic target. This antibody is specific to MCL1L isoform.

Description:
CCR7 is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family (subfamily:chemokine). This receptor was identified as a gene induced by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and is thought to be a mediator of EBV effects on B lymphocytes. CCR7 has been reported to be expressed in blood, bone marrow, lymph node, and intestine. It is particularly expressed in lymphoid tissues and in activated B and T lymphocytes and has been shown to control the migration of memory T cells to inflamed tissues, as well as stimulate dendritic cell maturation. The chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 19 (CCL19/ECL) has been reported to be a specific ligand of this receptor. ESTs have been isolated from blood, embryo, lymph node, and thymus libraries.

Human IL13 was originally identified by differential screening of an anti CD28 activated human peripheral blood mononuclear cell cDNA library as an induction specific novel cytokine. It was also isolated from cDNA libraries of human T cell clones using the murine IL13 (P600) cDNA as a probe. Human IL13, a pleiotropic cytokine, is produced by activated Th0, Th1 like, Th2 like, and CD8 T cells. The gene for human IL13 maps to chromosome 5 and is closely linked to the genes for IL3, IL4, IL5, and GMCSF.

Description:
CD45, also known as leukocyte common antigen (LCA), B220, and T200, is a 180-240 kD single chain type I membrane glycoprotein. It is a tyrosine phosphatase expressed on the plasma membrane of all hematopoietic cells, except erythrocytes and platelets. CD45 is a signaling molecule that regulates a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, cell cycle, and oncogenic transformation. CD45 is one of the best negative selection markers for characterizing and/or isolating human mesenchymal stem cells from bone marrow and other sources. Along with the positive selection markers (such as CD29, CD44, CD90, CD105 and CD166), negative selection markers (such as CD34 and CD45) are used for MSC identification.

Chondroadherin (CHAD), also known as cartilage leucine-rich protein, is a prominent noncollagenous extracellular protein in cartilage. It was first isolated from bovine cartilage. The primary structure of CHAD shows that it belongs to the family of leucine-rich repeat (LRR) proteins. It is expressed at high levels in certain zones of cartilage and also has been detected in bone, tendon, bone marrow, and chondrosarcoma cells. CHAD promotes attachment of chondrocytes, fibroblasts, and osteoblasts, mediated via the integrin alpha2beta1. It has also been shown to bind to collagen type II and both collagen type II and chondroadherin interact with integrin alpha2beta1. Besides, CHAD may play an important role in the regulation of chondrocyte growth and proliferation.

Description:
TNIK is a MSN protein kinase that interacts with both TNF receptor-associated factor 2 (TRAF2) and the adapter protein NCK. The protein has been shown to activate the c-Jun N-terminal kinase pathway when over expressed in Phoenix-A cells. TNIK has been shown to phosphorylate gelsolin, the principal intracellular and extracellular actin-severing protein, in vitro. This and evidence from mutational studies suggest that TNIK functions in the regulation of the cytoskeleton. Northern analysis indicates TNIK expression in human heart, skeletal muscle, and brain, with lower levels of expression in kidney, liver, lung, and pancreas. ESTs have been isolated from human tissue libraries, including normal amnion, gallbladder and skin.

Description:
Members of the 'frizzled' gene family encode 7-transmembrane domain proteins that are receptors for Wnt signaling proteins. The Frizzled 7 protein contains an N-terminal signal sequence, 10 cysteine residues typical of the cysteine-rich extracellular domain of Frizzled family members, 7 putative transmembrane domains, and an intracellular C-terminal tail with a PDZ domain-binding motif. Frizzled 7 gene expression may downregulate APC function and enhance beta-catenin-mediated signals in poorly differentiated human esophageal carcinomas. Frizzled 7 expression has been reported in brain, gastrointestinal tract, heart, fetal kidney, fetal lung, placenta, skeletal muscle, and various cancers. ESTs have been isolated from a wide variety of normal and cancer libraries.
