Description:
The antibody was isolated from antisera by affinity chromatography using antigens coupled to agarose beads. Based on immunoelectrophoresis and/or ELISA, the antibody reacts with whole molecule chicken IgY. It also reacts with the light chains of other chicken immunoglobulins. No reactivity was detected against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. This antibody has been tested by ELISA and/or solid-phase adsorbed to ensure minimal cross-reactivity with bovine, goat, guinea pig, Syrian hamster, horse, mouse, human, rabbit, rat, and sheep serum proteins, but may cross-react with immunoglobulins from other species. The conjugate has been specifically tested and qualified for Western blot applications. Recommended for: Western blot, proein array, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, 2D gel detection, and tissue section imaging. NOT RECOMMENDED for: small animal imaging, In-Cell Wesern assays, or On-Cell Western assays.

Description:
GHRH-R is a seven transmembrane domain protein that localizes to the somatotroph of the pituitary. GHRH-R plays an important role in growth and acts as a high-affinity receptor for GHRH. Binding of GHRH leads to the coupling of GHRH-R to G-protein which stimulates increased adenylyl cyclase activity and the accumulation of cAMP leading to the synthesis and release of growth hormone and somatotroph proliferation. In addition, this signalling pathway may have direct action in fetal/placental development, reproduction and immune function. GHRH and GHRH-R may also play a role in the regulation of non-rapid eye movement sleep (NREMS). The expression of GHRH-R is dependent on the presence of the POU domain factor Pit-1. Mutations in the gene encoding this protein can result in isolated growth hormone deficiency (IGHD), also known as Dwarfism of Sindh, and anterior pituitary hypoplasia (APH).

Description:
ATG16 Antibody: Autophagy, the process of bulk degradation of cellular proteins through an autophagosomic-lysosomal pathway is important for normal growth control and may be defective in tumor cells. It is involved in the preservation of cellular nutrients under starvation conditions as well as the normal turnover of cytosolic components. This process is negatively regulated by TOR (Target of rapamycin) through phosphorylation of autophagy protein APG1. ATG16, another member of the autophagy protein family, forms a complex with the ATG5-ATG12 conjugate. This multimeric protein has been shown to be essential for autophagosome formation in both yeast and mammals and targets the ATG5-ATG12 complex to the autophagic isolation membrane during the formation of the autophagosome. Because mammalian ATG16 has seven WD-repeats in its C-terminal domain, it has been suggested that these may form a platform for further protein-protein interactions. Multiple isoforms of ATG16 are known to exist.

Description:
Alpha 1 Fetoprotein is a major plasma protein produced by the yolk sac and the liver during fetal life. Alpha fetoprotein expression in adults is often associated with hepatoma or teratoma. However, hereditary persistance of alpha-fetoprotein may also be found in individuals with no obvious pathology. The protein is thought to be the fetal counterpart of serum albumin, and the alpha fetoprotein and albumin genes are present in tandem in the same transcriptional orientation on chromosome 4. Alpha fetoprotein is found in monomeric as well as dimeric and trimeric forms, and binds copper, nickel, fatty acids and bilirubin. The level of alpha fetoprotein in amniotic fluid is used to measure renal loss of protein to screen for spina bifida and anencephaly. Expression has been documented in human adrenal, liver, ovary, testis, and pancreas. ESTs have been isolated from normal human brain, liver/spleen, embryo and uterus tissue libraries.

Description:
Enteroviruses, such as enterovirus 71, are classified to be in the picornavirus family, pico [small] + RNA [ribonucleic acid] + virus. Picornaviruses are among the smallest and simplest ribonucleic acid containing viruses known (1). The RNA for many enteroviruses have now been cloned and complete genomic sequences have been obtained. The RNA from all sequenced enteroviruses are similar in length, about 7400 nucleotides, and have identical organization (1). The human alimentary tract is the predominant site of enterovirus replication and these viruses were first isolated from enteric specimens. These viruses are the cause of paralytic poliomyelitis, aseptic meningitis-encephalitis, myocarditis, pleurodynia, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, conjunctivitis, and numerous other syndromes associated with extra-intestinal target organs. There are 67 numbered types of enteroviruses in the enterovirus family (1): three polioviruses, twenty-three coxsackieviruses A, six coxsackieviruses B, thirty-one echoviruses, and four other enteroviruses.

Description:
WNV Core Antibody: West Nile Virus (WNV) is a member of the Flaviviridae, a plus-stranded virus family that includes St. Louis encephalitis virus, yellow fever virus, and Dengue virus. WNV was initially isolated in 1937 in the West Nile region of Uganda and has become prevalent in Africa, Asia, and Europe. It has rapidly spread across the United States with cases being observed in every continental state. Virus particles consist of a dense core made up of the core/capsid protein encapsulating the RNA genome surrounded by a membrane envelope embedded with envelope and matrix proteins which play a major role for WNV entry into target cells. The viral core protein is thought to contribute to the WNV-associated inflammation via apoptosis induced though the caspase-9 pathway as delivery of core gene delivery into the striatum of mouse brain and skeletal muscle resulted in cell death and inflammation.
