Description:
This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine and rat based on sequence homology. This gene encodes a transcriptional regulator that forms nuclear bodies and interacts with the transcriptional coactivator CBP. At least three splice variant mRNAs products have been described including one which results in a premature stop codon and a transcript predicted to be a candidate for nuclear-mediated decay . Defects in this gene cause the rare autosomal-recessive systemic autoimmune disease termed autoimmune polyendocrinopathy-candidiasis-ectodermal dystrophy .

Description:
EDC is a heterobifunctional, water-soluble, zero-length carbodiimide crosslinker that is used to couple carboxyl groups to primary amines. EDC activates carboxyl groups first and forms amine reactive O-acylisourea imtermediate that spontaneously reacts with primary amines to form an amide bond and isourea by-product.

Description:
There are 4 isozymes of pyruvate kinase in mammals: L, R, M1 and M2. PKM2 is a pyruvate kinase that catalyzes the production of phosphoenolpyruvate from pyruvate and ATP. This protein has been shown to interact with thyroid hormone, and thus may mediate cellular metabolic effects induced by thyroid hormones. This protein has been found to bind Opa protein, a bacterial outer membrane protein involved in gonococcal adherence to and invasion of human cells, suggesting a role of this protein in bacterial pathogenesis.

Parkinson is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimers. About 1 percent of people over the age of 65 and 3 percent of people over the age of 75 are affected by the disease. The mutation is the most common cause of Parkinson disease identified to date. The function of Park2 is not well-known; however, it may play a role in the ubiquitin-mediated proteolytic pathway. Mutations in this gene are known to cause autosomal recessive juvenile parkinsonism. Alternative splicing of this gene produces three known products of undetermined function.

Description:
Interleukin 3 (IL-3) is a species-specific pleiotropic cytokine that promotes the survival and proliferation of pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells and lineage-committed progenitor cells and their differentiation into mature cells of most lineages, including basophils, neutrophils, eosinophils, macrophages, dendritic cells, erythrocytes, and megakaryocytes (Yang <i>et al.</i>; Dorssers <i>et al.</i>; Broughton <i>et al.</i>). IL-3 is produced by activated T cells and has a physiological role in inflammation and allergies by promoting the secretion of inflammatory mediators such as histamine, IL-4, and IL-6 by basophils and eosinophils (Broughton <i>et al.</i>). The IL-3 receptor consists of a unique alpha subunit (CD123) and a beta common subunit (βc or CD131) that is shared with the receptors for IL-5 and GM-CSF, and is the principal signal transduction subunit for these cytokines. IL-3 binding to the heterodimeric receptor activates JAK/STAT, MAPK, and PI3K signaling pathways (Woodcock <i>et al.</i>). This product is animal component-free.

pH adjusters are used to adjust the pH of formulations. This category includes acids that are notoriously difficult to source as truly cGMP-produced and amino acids that most companies do not fully test for EP, BP and JP. Avantor provides all that and more with our cGMP-produced acids and mutli-compendial amino acids.

Description:
Interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β) is synthesized as an inactive precursor protein or pro-IL-1β. This precursor is cleaved intracellularly by Caspase 1 (IL-1β convertase) to form the active form of the protein that is later secreted (Allan <i>et al.</i>). IL-1β binds to IL-1 receptor and activates intracellular signaling via the MAPK or NF-kB pathway. IL-1β is released by monocytes, tissue macrophages, and dendritic cells in response to infection or injury and induces expression of acute-phase proteins. It also promotes the infiltration of inflammatory and immunocompetent cells from the circulation into the extravascular space and affected tissues, by stimulating the expression of adhesion molecules on endothelial cells. IL-1β also affects other immune cells; for example, it co-stimulates T cell functions together with antigen or mitogen. It also stimulates Th17 differentiation and B cell proliferation in an IL-6-dependent manner. This product is animal component-free.

Description:
This antibody is predicted to react with canine, mouse and rat based on sequence homology. This gene encodes one of several forms of glutamic acid decarboxylase, identified as a major autoantigen in insulin-dependent diabetes. The enzyme encoded is responsible for catalyzing the production of gamma-aminobutyric acid from L-glutamic acid. A pathogenic role for this enzyme has been identified in the human pancreas since it has been identified as an autoantibody and an autoreactive T cell target in insulin-dependent diabetes. This gene may also play a role in the stiff man syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein.

Description:
This antibody is predicted to react with mouse and rat based on sequence homology. This gene is a member of the BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19 kd-interacting protein family. It interacts with the E1B 19 kDa protein, which protects cells from virally-induced cell death. The encoded protein also interacts with E1B 19 kDa-like sequences of BCL2, another apoptotic protector. In addition, this protein is involved in vesicle transport into the endoplasmic reticulum. Alternative splicing of this gene results in four protein products with identical N- and C-termini.
