Mouse T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing protein 4, also known as T cell membrane protein 4, TIMD4 and TIM4 is a single-pass type I membrane protein which belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and TIM family. TIM4 contains one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. It is expressed on dendritic cells and macrophages. TIM4 plays an important role in the proliferation of T helper type 2 (Th2) cells. TIM4 is involved in regulating T cell proliferation and lymphotoxin signaling. It is a ligand for HAVCR1 / TIMD1. The expression of TIM4 in fibroblasts enhanced their ability to engulf apoptotic cells. TIM4 and TIM1 are phosphatidylserine receptors for the engulfment of apoptotic cells and may also be involved in intercellular signaling in which exosomes are involved. Modulation of TIM4 production in dendritic cells (DCs) represents a novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of peanut allergy.

This antibody is predicted to react with mouse, rat and cow based on sequence homology. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase family. CDK family members are highly similar to the gene products of S. cerevisiae cdc28, and S. pombe cdc2, and known as important cell cycle regulators. This kinase was found to be a component of the multiprotein complex TAK/P-TEFb, which is an elongation factor for RNA polymerase II-directed transcription and functions by phosphorylating the C-terminal domain of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II. This protein forms a complex with and is regulated by its regulatory subunit cyclin T or cyclin K. HIV-1 Tat protein was found to interact with this protein and cyclin T, which suggested a possible involvement of this protein in AIDS.

ATP1A2 (Na+/K+-ATPase α-2 subunit) is the catalytic component of the active enzyme Na+/K+-ATPase, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of sodium and potassium ions across the plasma membrane. The Na+/K+-ATPase is composed of a larger catalytic α-subunit (~110 kDa) and a small β-subunit (~55 kDa). The α subunit has four isoforms identified to date: α1, α2, α3 and α4.The α1 isoform is expressed ubiquitously but the α2 isoform is present largely in the skeletal muscle, heart and vascular smooth muscle. The α3 isoform is found almost exclusively in neurons and ovaries. The α4 isoform is expressed in sperm. There is convincing data suggesting it has phospholipase A2 inhibitory activity, as well as, a number of other immunomodulatory features including inhibition of interferon gamma signalling and Th1 vs. Th2 lymphocyte regulation. It was proposed as a potential peripheral marker of respiratory epithelial injury and bronchial dysfunction. Clara Cell Protein 16 concentrations have been determined in both serum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid in numerous studies since 1994. In serum, its increase is associated with age, asbestos, nitrogen chloride and ozone exposure, sarcoidosis and high PEEP ventilation. Decreased serum CC16 levels are found after pulmonary resection, in silica-exposed workers, smokers and in asthma. Decreased CC16 concentrations were also found in the amniotic fluid of fetuses suffering from pulmonary hypoplasia caused by various mechanisms (diaphragmatic hernia, diabetic fetopathy, Turner and Down syndrome). In pleural effusions, the CC16 concentration appears to be associated with its diffusion from the lung as evidenced by high CC16 levels in cardiac pleural congestion.
