Description:   This antibody recognizes a 53 kDa protein, which is identified as p53 suppressor gene product. It reacts with the mutant as well as the wild form of p53. Its epitope maps within the N-terminus (aa 37-45) of p53. Monoclonal antibody PAb1801 does not block the binding of DO-7 MAb to p53 in an ELISA test. p53 is a tumor suppressor gene expressed in a wide variety of tissue types and is involved in regulating cell growth, replication, and apoptosis. It binds to MDM2, SV40 T antigen and human papilloma virus E6 protein. Positive nuclear staining with p53 antibody has been reported to be a negative prognostic factor in breast carcinoma, lung carcinoma, colorectal, and urothelial carcinoma. Anti-p53 positivity has also been used to differentiate uterine serous carcinoma from endometrioid carcinoma as well as to detect intratubular germ cell neoplasia. Mutations involving p53 are found in a wide variety of malignant tumors, including breast, ovarian, bladder, colon, lung, and melanoma.

Description:   The OKT3 antibody is specific for human CD3e, also known as CD3 epsilon, a 20 kDa subunit of the T cell receptor complex along with CD3 gamma and CD3 delta. These integral membrane protein chains assemble with additional chains of the T cell receptor (TCR), as well as CD3 zeta chain, to form the T cell receptor – CD3 complex. Together with co-receptors CD4 or CD8, the complex serves to recognize antigens bound to MHC molecules on antigen-presenting cells. These interactions promote T cell receptor signaling (T cell activation), inducing a number of cellular responses including proliferation, differentiation, production of cytokines or activation-induced cell death. The cohesin complex is required for the cohesion of sister chromatids after DNA replication. CF™405S is a blue fluorescent dye with an absorption peak wavelength that nearly coincides with the 405 nm blue diode laser line. As a result, flow cytometry analysis using CF™405S dye results in much brighter signal than that using Alexa Fluor® 405.
