Description:
Ubiquitin-like modifier involved in formation of autophagosomal vacuoles (autophagosomes). Plays a role in mitophagy which contributes to regulate mitochondrial quantity and quality by eliminating the mitochondria to a basal level to fulfill cellular energy requirements and preventing excess ROS production. Whereas LC3s are involved in elongation of the phagophore membrane, the GABARAP/GATE-16 subfamily is essential for a later stage in autophagosome maturation. Promotes primary ciliogenesis by removing OFD1 from centriolar satellites via the autophagic pathway.

Description:
Corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) is secreted by the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus in response to stress. In addition to production in the hypothalamus, this protein is also synthesized in peripheral tissues, such as T lymphocytes and is highly expressed in the placenta where it is a marker that determines the length of gestation and the timing of parturition and delivery. A rapid increase in circulating levels of the hormone occurs at the onset of parturition, suggesting that, in addition to its metabolic functions, this protein may act as a trigger for parturitio. Marked reduction in this protein has been observed in association with Alzheimer disease.

The Bcr gene, mapping on chromosome22, was orginally identified by its presence in the chimeric Bcr-Abl oncogene. The Bcr gene encodes for the break point cluster region protein(Bcr). Although the BCR-ABL fusion protein has been extensively studied, the function of the normal BCR gene product is not clear. The protein has serine/threonine kinase activity and is a GTPase-activating protein for RAC1 and CDC42. A chromosomal aberration involving BCR has been found in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia.

The complement factor C3 consists of an alpha and a beta chain. C3 is a central factor in the complement cascade. It is central to the alternative pathway that leads to the C3 convertase C3bBb. The classical mannose binding lectin activation pathway leads to the C3 convertase C4b2a. These convertases cleave C3 resulting in C3a and C3b. Further degradation leads to the formation of the alpha chain products C3d, C3g and C3c. C3 is an acute phase protein that is produced by a wide range of tissues, including renal epithelial cells and hepatocytes.

Description:
TLR2 Antibody: Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are signaling molecules that recognize different microbial products during infection and serve as an important link between the innate and adaptive immune responses. These proteins act through adaptor molecules such as MyD88 and TIRAP to activate various kinases and transcription factors such as Protein Kinase C (PKC) alpha/beta and NF-kappa B. TLR2 can form heterodimers with either TLR1 or TLR6, and as a heterodimer can recognize a variety of bacterial and mycoplasma lipoproteins respectively.

Description:
FAIM1 (or Fas Apoptotic Inhibitory Molecule 1) is a recently discovered negative regulator of apoptosis. FAIM1 has no significant regions of homology to other gene products that modulate Fas killing. It plays a role as an inducible effector molecule that mediates Fas resistance produced by surface Ig engagement in B cells. Overexpression of FAIM1 diminishes sensitivity to Fas mediated apoptosis of B and non B cell lines. FAIM1 is highly evolutionarily conserved and is widely expressed in murine tissues, suggesting that FAIM1 plays an important role in cellular physiology.

Description:
RAC2, also named as GX, belongs to the small GTPase superfamily and Rho family. RAC2 is a plasma membrane-associated small GTPase which cycles between an active GTP-bound and inactive GDP-bound state. In active state binds to a variety of effector proteins to regulate cellular responses, such as secretory processes, phagocytose of apoptotic cells and epithelial cell polarization. RAC2 augments the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by NADPH oxidase. Defects in RAC2 are the cause of neutrophil immunodeficiency syndrome.

The human genes correcting DNA repair defects are termed excision-repair cross-complementing or ERCC genes. The ERCC5 gene corrects the excision repair deficiency of Chinese hamster ovary cell line UV135 of complementation group 5. The human ERCC5 gene product is a structure-specific endonuclease required for making the 3-prime incision during DNA nucleotide excision-repair (NER). It also plays an important role in regulating DNA excision repair, removal of bulky lesions caused by environmental chemicals or UV light .

Description:
NF-kappa-B is a ubiquitous transcription factor involved in several biological processes. It is held in the cytoplasm in an inactive state by specific inhibitors. Upon degradation of the inhibitor, NF-kappa-B moves to the nucleus and activates transcription of specific genes. NF-kappa-B is composed of NFKB1 or NFKB2 bound to either REL, RELA, or RELB. The most abundant form of NF-kappa-B is NFKB1 complexed with the product of this gene, RELA. Four transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
