This product is prepared by labeling F(ab’)2 fragment of goat anti-mouse IgG (H+L) with R-phycoerythrin (R-PE). R-PE belongs to the family of phycobiliproteins, which are derived from cyanobacteria and eukaryotic algae. R-PE has absorption maxima at 496, 546, and 565 nm respectively, and emission at 578 nm. Because of the high extinction coefficient (~1,960,000) and high fluorescence quantum yield (~0.82), R-PE is by far the brightest dye for the 565 nm wavelength region.

Isocitrate dehydrogenases catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two distinct subclasses, one of which utilizes NAD (+) as the electron acceptor and the other NADP (+). Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported: three NAD (+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenases, which localize to the mitochondrial matrix, and two NADP (+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenases, one of which is mitochondrial and the other predominantly cytosolic. Each NADP (+)-dependent isozyme is a homodimer. IDH2 is the NADP (+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase found in the mitochondria. It plays a role in intermediary metabolism and energy production.
